The obverse depicted laurel wreath tied with a ribbon. In the middle of the coin is the nominal value of 1 leva. In the outer circle of the coin has an inscription “Peoples Republic of Bulgaria” and the year of issue – 1969.
The reverse side depicted the monument to the Tzar Liberation, situed in Sofia. On both sides are the years “1878” and “1968”.
