The obverse depicted the nominal value of 2 1/2 stotinki, enclosed by a knurled rim. In the outer circle of the coin has an inscription “Two and a half stotinki” and “1888”.
The reverse side depicted small Bulgaria coat of arms. In the outer circle of the coin has an inscription “Unity renders power” and “Bulgaria”.
