The obverse depicted wreath of roses tied with a ribbon in the middle. In the center of the coin is the nominal value of 1 000 leva and below the year of issue - 1996. Above them has the inscription "Republic of Bulgaria.
The reverse depicted the Kaliakra boat. In the outer circle of the coin has an inscription “Kaliakra”.
