The obverse depicted wreath of roses tied with a ribbon in the middle. In the center of the coin is the nominal value of 1 000 leva and below the year of issue 1997. Above them is an the inscription "Republic of Bulgaria.
The reverse depicted a singing girl dress in a national costume against the background of a house of the Bulgarian National Revival. To the left of the girl is the UNICEF logo. In the outer circle of the coin has an inscription “For the children of the world”.
