The obverse is the emblem of the BNB and the year of her establishment - 1879. In the circle are inscribed “Bulgarian National Bank”” and the year of issue - 2003 and the nominal value of 5 leva.
The reverse side depicted a little boy who riding a wooden horse. The little boy is colored in dark blue, white, yellow, red and grey. In the outer circle of the coin has the inscription "My childhood – Sunny. Lovely".
